To further increase our positive impact on the aquaculture sector of Southeast Asia, we are looking for an aquaculture project manager to be based in our Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho office.   

 

Exciting opportunity

The aquaculture project manager will lead a project team of Fresh Studio aquaculture consultants in Vietnam and Myanmar. You will be responsible for the technical implementation and management of project activities. Your daily activities will consist of close collaboration with our local team of consultants and partner organizations to realize the ambitions of our clients. These ambitions range from enhancing aquaculture production systems, developing fish hatcheries, applied R&D, to developing training programs and extensions services.

Main responsibilities

A summary of the main responsibilities of this position are:

 

Project management

  • Responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
  • Lead and inspire the project team; Monitor project activities, project expenditures and the project budget
  • Coordinate work with project partners and external consultants in the project.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all required project reports/presentations and responsible for communication with the client

 

Technical backstopping

 

  •     Provide technical advice related to production, R&D, and other field activities
  •     Responsible for the quality control on all project deliverables
  •     Review and develop training materials, survey instruments, and other materials required
  •     Train the trainers

 

Acquisition & business development

 

  • Develop and maintain effective working relations with customers
  • Identify needs of clients and develop project proposals to support them
  • Forecast and track the pipeline of aquaculture related leads and proposals

 

Desired qualifications and skills

You combine a good education, such as a university degree in aquaculture, with work experience as a project manager in aquaculture production, R&D or sourcing projects. You combine excellent people management skills, with being a well-structured and processed oriented person who gets work done.

 

  •     M.Sc. in aquaculture or agriculture.
  •     5 years of experience in aquaculture, with a proven track record for project management
  •     Excellent in both verbal and written English communication
  •     Good understanding of Asian aquaculture production systems and the market
  •     Strong project management skills – organized, attention to detail, ability to challenge and convince stakeholders with different views
  •     Strong analytical skills, resulting in clear recommendations for our clients
  •     Intellectually curious, hands-on, results-driven with a proactive attitude
  •     Good social skills
  •     Excellent presentation skills
  •     Service orientated
  •     Responsible, proactive and a positive thinker
  •     Eager to travel and discover
