I. Job identification

Position              :             IPM Sales Officer

Department       :             Crops

II. Key Organizational Relationships

Report to            :             R&D Manager Crops

Supervise           :             N/A

III. Summary of responsibilities

The IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Sales Officer is primarily responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the customer base for IPM solutions (biological control, natural enemies) and agricultural products (seeds, substrates, and related technologies).

VI. Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Development

• Identify and develop potential clients (farmers, farmer groups, agribusinesses)
• Promote and sell IPM solutions and agricultural products
• Understand customers’ needs and suggest suitable solutions
• Build and maintain good relationships with farmers and local partners
• Support sales activities such as demonstrations, field days, and training sessions
• Follow up with customers and support the sales process

Technical support

• Set up and monitor IPM demo plots
• Provide basic technical guidance to farmers on how to use products
• Support farmers in applying IPM practices effectively
• Coordinate and ensure proper use of supplied technologies and inputs
• Collect field data and feedback from farmers

Training & Field activities

• Organize and deliver training sessions for farmers and farmer groups
• Arrange field days to introduce new technologies and solutions
• Support farmers in record-keeping and crop monitoring

Support other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Desired qualifications:

Minimum Educational Requirement:

• University degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, or a related field

Special Skills Required:

• 1–2 years of experience in agriculture, IPM, or agri-sales is preferred
• Good communication skills (with local farmers)
• Basic knowledge of IPM or crop production is an advantage
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to communicate in English is a plus
• Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
