III. Summary of responsibilities
This position is primarily held responsible for organizing and implementing activities related to:
Providing training and technical support to farmers
Implement trials and collect and report data
Data collection form farmers or other actors in a supply chain
Support introduction of new agricultural technologies
The responsibilities range from implementing extension strategies (farm monitoring, farmer training, organize field days etc.) to improving the local agricultural production systems by introducing new production techniques to farmers. Furthermore, this position will support data collection in relation to our projects and support the implementation, data collection and reporting of trials to test new technologies. The Agronomist shall develop and maintain an extensive network within the agriculture sector (farmers, private sector, governmental institutions, NGO’s, etc.) that will support access to know-how and support implementation of our projects.
IV. Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Implementation of assigned tasks of Fresh Studio projects in the Mekong Delta, ranging from:
Data collection form farmers and other parties involved in a supply chain
Setup and monitor trials of various crops
Provide technical support to farmers and farmer groups
Provide training to farmers and farmer groups
Arrange field days to share new knowledge and technologies to local farmers and other interested persons
Support farmers in record keeping
Coordinate and ensure correct installation and operation by farmers and farmer groups of agricultural technologies provided to them
Support any other assigned activities
Desired qualifications:
Minimum Educational Requirement:
Graduated from college/university of Horticulture/Agriculture (BSc), experience in the production of vegetables and fruits, experience in the training of famers is an advantage.
Language:
Excellent in both verbal and written Vietnamese
English communication and writing skills are an advantage
Special Skills Required:
At least 2-year experience with vegetable and or fruit production
Good communication skills (with local farmers)
A strong passion to learn and develop new agriculture technologies and knowledge and make them available for farmers
Basic word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team

Provide system recommendations/advice to to meet the specific needs of clients, ensuring effective solutions
Manage the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of irrigation systems to maintain high performance and efficiency
Create and develop innovative irrigation systems, focusing on both new designs and improvements to existing systems
Identify and target potential clients to grow the business and increase market reach
Contribute to the development and improvement of related agricultural technologies and products, such as films, seeds, and substrates
Conduct research and client surveys to understand their needs for agricultural products and technologies, ensuring timely updates of client information
Perform other related tasks/duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Experience

Support planning, setup, and execution of field trials with growers, ensuring compliance with trial guidelines and standards
Collect accurate and comprehensive trial data, including crop development stages, soil conditions, and environmental variables
Maintain detailed records and documentation of trial activities and observations for analysis and reporting
Collaborate with the R&D Crops team to monitor trial progress, ensure smooth trial operations
Contribute to the development of trial protocols and standard operating procedures
Prepare concise reports and presentations summarizing trial findings and propose recommendations.
Additional Responsibilities
Implement and support other projects in field research activities, focusing on irrigation system management and sustainability initiatives
Support with any other assigned activities

Minimum Educational Requirement:
Graduated from college/university of Horticulture/Agriculture (BSc), or related field. Previous experience in agricultural research, fieldwork, or data collection is a plus.
